The Lakers are stacked, possessing a balanced team that features a tremendous star (Kobe Bryant), several very good complementary players (Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Derek Fisher) and a host of confident role players (Radmanovic, Walton, Farmar, Turiaf, Vujacic) who make sure there's no fall off from the starters to the bench when the second unit comes in.
L.A. will be in even better shape if Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza come back at 100 percent from their injury marred 2007-08 campaigns. With the third-to-last pick in the Draft, the Lakers can afford to take a flyer on any intriguing prospect left on the board and give him a shot to show his stuff during Summer League.
"Kobe Bryant is smiling, his team is thriving and all of Los Angeles is back in full swoon for the Lakers. This might be a good time for Mitch Kupchak, the Lakers’ oft-maligned general manager, to exhale and perhaps take a figurative bow."
