The Sonics struggled through their first year of a serious rebuilding project, finishing with the second worst record in the league. They played at a high pace, but were the worst offensive team in the NBA, and not much better defensively. They do have some young pieces, including Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant, to build with, but they could use help in pretty much every department. With six picks in the draft, they have the ability to do a full reload or use some of the picks to acquire a vet.
"But it's not all bad for the Sonics, as there still are plenty of options for the franchise despite Tuesday night's disappointing results. The Sonics are armed with the fourth pick, the Phoenix Suns' 24th pick and four second-round picks. It's enough to provide the Sonics plenty of options, including several potential trades, and set up a much-needed roster makeover."
