MEMPHIS, September 3, 2009 - Mike Conley and the Memphis Grizzlies are trading in their basketball sneakers for bowling shoes for the Second Annual Bowl-N-Bash. Conley will again team up with the Special Olympics and the Memphis Police Sports Federation for the event, which will be held at Bartlett Lanes on Saturday, September 26 from 1-4 p.m.

Along with an afternoon of bowling with Conley, his Grizzlies teammates, coaches and other special guests, participants will also have the opportunity to win Grizzlies tickets, movie passes and prizes. Each bowler who takes part will receive a t-shirt, autographs and a photo opportunity with Conley.

A team of four bowlers can register for $300, with individual spots available for $75. For those who would like to watch the event but not partake in the bowling, a $5 donation is required at the door. All proceeds from the Second Annual Bowl-N-Bash will benefit the Special Olympics and the Memphis Police Sports Federation.

“I’m really excited to be able to host the Bowl-N-Bash that benefits Special Olympics and the Memphis Police Sports Federation for the second straight year,” said Conley. “With training camp right around the corner, this event gives our teammates and coaches a chance to get together and support two very important organizations.”

Created in 1968 with local, national and regional competitions in over 200 countries worldwide, the Special Olympics is an international organization created to help people with intellectual disabilities develop self-confidence, social skills and a sense of personal accomplishment. The Memphis Police Sports Federation is a governing body which promotes physical fitness and participation in various athletic events among the commissioned Memphis Police Officers of the Memphis Police Department and among the youth of Memphis and Shelby County.
