The 2008 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Summer Camps are traveling to twelve (12) markets this summer, touching down in Cedar Rapids, Boise, Grand Rapids, Windsor, Charleston, Raleigh, Provo, Phoenix, Providence, Baltimore, Wilmington, and Spokane. NBA and WNBA players and Legends will lead 250 local Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA members at each camp and take part in a fun-filled day of basketball fundamentals, competitive games, Pledge to be a S.T.A.R discussions and an emphasis on the importance of health and fitness.
The camps, which host children of all skill levels and ages 9-13, teach basketball skills fundamentals, stress sportsmanship and offer insights into life lessons on and off the court while emphasizing good health and nutrition for a lifetime. The morning session focuses on basketball skills, including ball-handling, shooting, passing and defense, while the afternoon session consists of competitive games. (knocokout, shooting contests, dribbling games, etc.). The camp also features a Parents Seminar, where campers' parents are invited to learn valuable
information on how they can contribute positively to their child’s youth sports experience.
